Nova Pleated Skirt

This Nova Pleated Skirt is a piece I constructed in April 2023 while studying Fashion Technology at the University of Hawaii Maui College. The skirt pattern was entirely created by me, consisting of 7 pattern pieces in total. The skirt is made from a gray medium-weight quilting cotton, giving the garment structure while still allowing movement.

The design features a wide front and back yoke waistband with two inverted box pleats in the front and two in the back, creating a balanced, tailored silhouette. There are hidden pockets at the side seam, and the skirt is finished with an invisible zipper at the center back for a clean closure. This was the first skirt I had ever patterned, and I love the way it turned out!
